Senate Votes To Let Military Detain Americans Indefinitely, and The ACLU CLAIMS THEY CAN WITHOUT A TRIAL

Senate Votes To Let Military Detain Americans Indefinitely, and The ACLU CLAIMS THEY CAN WITHOUT A TRIAL

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted Tuesday to keep a controversial provision to let the military detain terrorism suspects on U.S. soil and hold them indefinitely without trial — prompting White House officials to reissue a veto threat.
The measure, part of the massive National Defense Authorization Act, was also opposed by civil libertarians on the left and right. But 16 Democrats and an independent joined with Republicans to defeat an amendment   by Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) that would have killed the provision, voting it down with 61 against, and 37 for it.
“I’m very, very, concerned about having U.S. citizens sent to Guantanamo Bay for indefinite detention,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), one of the Senate’s most conservative members.
Rand’s top complaint is that a terrorism suspect would get just one hearing where the military could assert that the person is a suspected terrorist — and then they could be locked up for life, without ever formally being charged. The only safety valve is a waiver from the secretary of defense.
“It’s not enough just to be alleged to be a terrorist,” Paul said, echoing the views of the American Civil Liberties Union. “That’s part of what due process is — deciding, are you a terrorist? I think it’s important that we not allow U.S. citizens to be taken.”
Democrats who were also concerned about liberties compared the military policing of Americans to the detention of Americans in internment camps during World War II.
ACLU claims Senate bill would let military detain Americans without trialIs the Senate preparing to pass a bill allowing the military to arrest and detain American citizens on American soil indefinitely without trial?
That’s the conclusion of a post at the ACLU.
According to Chris Anders of the Washington Legislative Office of the ACLU :
The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power  to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. Even Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) raised his concerns about the NDAA detention provisions during last night’s Republican debate. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself.
Anders writes the only way to stop this measure is with something called the Udall Amendment.
The solution is the Udall Amendment ; a way for the Senate to say no to indefinite detention without charge or trial anywhere in the world where any president decides to use the military. Instead of simply going along with a bill that was drafted in secret and is being jammed through the Senate, the Udall Amendment  deletes the provisions and sets up an orderly review of detention power. It tries to take the politics out and put American values back in.

Senate Amendment #1107. Mr. UDALL of Colorado submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 1867, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2012 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; as follows:

Strike subtitle D of title X and insert the following:

Subtitle D--Detainee Matters

SEC. 1031. REVIEW OF AUTHORITY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES TO DETAIN COVERED PERSONS PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE.

(a) In General.--Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall, in consultation with appropriate officials in the Executive Office of the President, the Director of National Intelligence, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the Attorney General, submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report setting forth the following:

“Congress is essentially authorizing the indefinite imprisonment of American citizens, without charge,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who offered another amendment — which has not yet gotten a vote — that she said would correct the problem. “We are not a nation that locks up its citizens without charge.”
Backers of military detention of Americans — a measure crafted by Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) — came out swinging against Udall’s amendment on the Senate floor earlier Tuesday.
“The enemy is all over the world. Here at home. And when people take up arms against the United States and [are] captured within the United States, why should we not be able to use our military and intelligence community to question that person as to what they know about enemy activity?” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said.
“They should not be read their Miranda Rights. They should not be given a lawyer,” Graham said. “They should be held humanely in military custody and interrogated about why they joined al Qaeda and what they were going to do to all of us.”
thank you David

Detroit Judges saying ‘no bond’ to white-collar suspects, especially the foreign ones.

When it comes to bond, judges are lumping some white-collar criminal defendants in the same category as accused killers and rapists.
They’re locking them up.
And they’re doing it more frequently, say defense lawyers and legal experts, who said they believe bond is becoming out of reach for some defendants accused of financial crimes — foreigners in particular.
They say foreign suspects implicated in massive fraud schemes involving millions of taxpayer dollars are having a tough time convincing judges they won’t flee.
As the government sees it, they can’t be trusted.
Authorities argue the defendants have access to loads of cash and have foreign ties. If they’re released before trial, the government says, they’ll likely never be seen again.
In Detroit, several foreign suspects have recently been ordered locked up pending trial: three are Medicare fraud suspects and two are charged in an insurance-fraud-by-arson case.
One defendant — a pharmacist with two children in the U.S. — has pleaded with the court four times to be released, to no avail.
When the government gets a hold of suspects like Zafar Mehmood, it doesn’t let them out of its sight.
Mehmood, records show, is a wealthy Pakistani businessman who owns 16 home health agencies and a mosque in metro Detroit, along with a rice factory, a religious school and a farm in Pakistan. He frequently travels there and sends money to family back home for a cotton-spinning business, records show.
Add up all that wealth and travel, prosecutors say, and there’s no way Mehmood — who is charged with bilking $31 million from Medicare — can be trusted to be released on bond.More at Source

America Undercover: Small Town Ecstasy, Ecstasy Deaths in London, Clinic handing out Ecstasy and Oxycontin in Seattle WA

Clinic a 'supermarket for Oxycontin and ecstasy,' community leader says

A state licensing loophole is allowing a Seattle methadone clinic to more than double the number of addicts it serves, and that rule has neighbors asking why they should be stuck with the consequences.
First Hill's Therapeutic Health Services is a drug treatment facility that helps painkiller and heroin addicts get clean using a synthetic opioid called methadone.

Because the clinic is located on a street corner, it technically has two addresses. That fluke allowed the clinic's director to apply for -- and receive -- two licenses that have doubled the clinic's clients.
"They have 1,000 clients coming each day," said Jim Erickson of the First Hill Improvement Association. "State law says 350 is the limit."

The clinic's Norman Johnson admits it's an unusual arrangement, but said waiting lists to enroll in opiate treatment facilities are typically 300 people deep. Because of that high demand, Johnson believes it's a benefit to society to treat the added patients.

Johnson said junkies often get sick and clog up emergency rooms, while many others wind up in jail, further taxing public services.

"This community really needs this program, because otherwise they are going to pay for it either in taxes, or on the street, or in crime," Johnson said.

Erickson agrees that THS helps recovering addicts, but feels the clinic isn't playing by the rules and is inviting large numbers of drug dealers and users into his  neighborhood.

"It's a supermarket for Oxycontin and ecstasy," he said. "And there's a lot of money changing hands."

New ecstasy fears after two dead and one seriously ill following club weekend

The clubbers, aged 20 and 21, died within hours of each other at the same hospital after attending separate dance music events at Alexandra Palace in north London over the weekend. Another 20-year-old man, also thought to have attended an event at the venue, is also being treated at the same hospital where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition. Last night Scotland Yard issued a special appeal to any young people who may have taken drugs at or before either of the events to seek immediate medical attention amid fears dealers may have been peddling an ultra-strong batch. It comes just a week after the charity Drugscope, which monitors trends in underground the drug trade, warned of an alarming rise in the popularity of ecstasy which dominated the 1990s rave scene but fell out of fashion. A surge in use follows an influx of a more-potent Chinese variants of the drug which is based on the chemical MDMA, or methylenedioxymethamphetamine.

‘As of the year 2000, there were seven countries in the world without a Rothschild-owned Central Bank; Guess which ones?’

The History of the House of Rothschild

The Rothschilds have been in control of the world for a very long time, their tentacles reaching into many aspects of our daily lives, as is documented in the following timeline.  However, before you jump to the timeline, please read this invaluable introduction which will tell you who the Rothschilds are as oppose to who they claim to be.
The Rothschilds claim that they are Jewish, when in fact they are Khazars.  They are from a country called Khazaria, which occupied the land locked between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea which is now predominantly occupied by Georgia.  The reason the Rothschilds claim to be Jewish is that the Khazars under the instruction of the King, converted to the Jewish faith in 740 A.D., but of course that did not include converting their Asiatic Mongolian genes to the genes of the Jewish people.
You will find that approximately 90% of people in the world today who call themselves Jews are actually Khazars, or as they like to be known, Ashkenazi Jews.  These people knowingly lie to the world with their claims that the land of Israel is theirs by birthright, when in actual fact their real homeland is over 800 miles away in Georgia.
So, next time you hear an Israeli Prime Minister bleating about the so-called persecution of the Jews, consider this, every Prime Minister of Israel has been an Ashkenazi Jew.  Therefore when all these Prime Ministers have curried favour with the West for their re-establishment of a Jewish homeland, they have knowingly and deliberately lied to you, as they were never from that region, and they well know it, because it is they who call themselves Ashkenazi Jews.
The Book of Revelation, Chapter 2, Verse 9, states the following which would appear to be about these Ashkenazi Jews:

Rothschild Banking

“History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and its issuance.”
President James Madison
Money, money, money, it’s always just been there, right? Wrong.
Obviously it’s issued by the government to make it easy for us to exchange things. Wrong again!
Truth is most people don’t realise that the issuing of money is essentially a private business, and that the privilege of issuing money has been a major bone of contention throughout history.
Wars have been fought and depressions have been caused in the battle over who issues the money; however the majority of us are not aware of this, and this is largely due to the fact that the winning side became and increasingly continues to be a vital and respected member of our global society, having an influence over large aspects of our lives including our education, our media and our governments.
While we might feel powerless in trying to stop the manipulation of money for private profit at our expense, it is easy to forget that we collectively give money its value. We have been taught to believe printed pieces of paper have special value, and because we know others believe this too, we are willing to work all our lives to get what we are convinced others will want.
An honest look at history will show us how our innocent trust has been misused.
As of the year 2000, there were seven countries in the world without a Rothschild-owned Central Bank:
Afghanistan
Iraq
Sudan
Libya
Cuba
North Korea
Iran
Then along came the convenient terror of 9-11 and soon Iraq and Afghanistan had been added to the list, leaving only five countries without a Central Bank owned by the Rothschild Family:
Sudan
Libya
Cuba
North Korea
Iran
The only countries left in 2011 without a Central Bank owned by the Rothschild Family are:
Cuba
North Korea
Iran
And these mono-maniacal speculators in the west, via their nuke-weaponed ally Israel, are blatantly gagging to get that “Central Bank of Iran” set up.
Let’s start our exploration of money with:
JESUS FLIPS (many coins) 33 A.D.
Jesus was so upset by the sight of the money changers in the temple, he waded in and started to tip over the tables and drive them out with a whip, this being the one and only time we ever hear of him using force during his entire ministry.
So what caused the ultimate pacifist to become so aggressive?
For a long time the Jews had been called upon to pay their temple tax with a special coin called the half shekelshekel. It was a measured half ounce of pure silver with no image of a pagan emperor on it.
It was to them the only coin acceptable to God.
But because there was only a limited number of these coins in circulation, the money changers were in a buyers market and like with anything else in short supply, they were able to raise the price to what the market would bear.
They made huge profits with their monopoly on these coins and turned this time of devotion into a mockery for profit. Jesus saw this as stealing from the people and proclaimed the whole setup to be. “A den of thieves”. 1
